Read Your Assignment Provision
by: Steve from Tower Genius

Almost certainly Verizon didn't need to get your consent to assign your cell tower lease to Vertical Bridge. In the event that your lease had some funky assignment language it was probably put into a different "bucket" that they are handling separately from the bulk of the 6,000+ tower they purchased. Same thing happened back when American Tower purchased 11,000+ towers from Verizon back in 2014 or whenever it was exactly. They could not let a few odd-ball leases hold up a multi-billion dollar transaction. Those odd ball assignment provision leases went it American Tower's "Sequoia" bucket and they leased back the towers and acted as a manager, while attempting to get owners to agree to assignment on a site by site basis.
