Sprint just finished their Network Vision upgrade on my rooftop last year, I think it is their upgrade to their 4G long term evolution platform. I have now been contacted by a real estate company representing Sprint about their upgrade called Sprint 2.5. They are adding 2.5 GHz RRH units (remote radio-head). I need somebody to take a look at my lease and then advise me about the possibility of increasing my rent. They tell me that they do not pay additional rent for deploying this system. But they are still asking me to approve their plans so I think it is worth something. Please advise.
It depends on the lease and the exhibits... by: Sean (Tower Genius)
Nelson,
It all depends on your lease and the exhibits. We have been very successful in getting rental increases in situations where Sprint representatives claimed that it would be impossible to increase the rent. It is also an opportunity to make sure that other provisions in the lease are brought up to date with acceptable standards. Please give us a call so we can review your deal and tell you our opinion.
