Buy out of a so called inactive tower

They have approached us about buying out our lease because it's inactive,they want a purpetual easement. If inactive why buy us out? We feel they aren't being honest with us. We have been getting 529.00 a month for five years and up for our 15 year renewal and they are threatening not to renew us. Are they being honest or is something coming down the tubes in the next few years. They offered 60,00 buyout. My husband and I don't feel like they are being truthful with us. We need your advice.

They are hoping that you take the big carrot they are dangling in front of you.

Let's take a look at the tower location to determine what they are doing any why.

inactive site, but rents paid.

Inactive does not mean it has no value, or that it cannot become active. Your rent shows that.

The tower companies use some of the most deceptive methods to lower rents and escalators, push a "buy out" threaten to cancel or not renew.

Yet!!!!, They want to pay you 60k for your position.

Why? My guess, they will charge whoever sends you money right now.

This is why I would contact Tower Genius and find out why you are getting rent for an inactive location.
