We have a lady that wants to put up a cell tower.

by Lee
(Gainesville FL, USA)

I work for the tax collectors office here in Alachua County. We have a lady that called and wants to put up a cell tower, on her property I assume. We have never had this come up as long as I have been here and I'm not sure how to go about helping her. If she plans to make money off of this tower I do know she will have to obtain a local business tax receipt form the county. As for any other permits of anything, I'm not sure about, any help you could give me would be much appreciated.

Cell tower...

I am sure she will need to obtain zoning approval. In most cases you would need to prove that a carrier has a need for a site and they handle getting a site approved.

If she is granted zoning approval she should not need a business certificate un less she is running a business on the property. If the local municipality wants some type of business certificate they should seek such a document from the renter (carrier).
