Lease Renewal

by Brenda Summerlin
(Sanger TX )

We have a tower where the lease is not up until 2030 I believe. We currently get 6000.00 in rental. My Mother signed the last lease without us knowing so she got very little rate increase.
They have been calling over the past year wanting to increase the renewal date of the lease. The offers have been very minimal, today they offered to increase the rent by 3000.00 per year 1 time signing bonus of 10,000 and give us a 15% revenue share.
I really feel we don't have any bargaining power right now due to the time left on the lease.

Your thoughts.

You are correct.

They have plenty of time remaining until expiration and the tower company would be thrilled if she signed since it's not a great deal for her, but an awesome deal for them. Tell them to call you back when there are less than 10 years remaining to discuss.
