no previous agreement
by: Anonymous

I was just told the there was never a lease agreement ever made with the previous home owner. So why can't they start one now? I'm wondering if it's worth consulting legal advice or would I be wasting my time and money?

Editor's Note: Go down to your town's building department or planning and zoning office and ask to see the file.

Hi

Ask the seller if they sold the lease. Or get the real estate professional to do a tittle search on status of the lease. Sales on these leases are recorded normally.

If sold, your out of luck.
If not sold, get your rent.

Uh oh... Not getting your rent check?
by: Phil

There is a possibility that they sold the rental revenue stream out from under the house. Check to see if there what the county records show on your deed.
